APRYL LAUREN
“Capable of Seducing a Room with Nothing but Herself and a Piano”
--femme fatale magazine
Singer, songwriter, poet, philosopher, Apryl Lauren projects an unblinking combination of seduction and strength. Her lyrical insight and her flair for melodic hooks and flat-out groove easily separates her from the norm. Apryl grew up in the Bay Area in Northern California, where she acquired a solid theater background. With her move to Los Angeles in 2001, came several roles in indie films and commercials. Apryl now draws on her acting background to weave a web of mystique, sophistication and attitude behind the mic. Lounging on the piano, seducing the room with Lauren Bacall glamour, Apryl can change from innocent to devilish in a heartbeat. She evokes the persona of a 1940s ingenue, sparkling in a world of backbeats and digital processing. Upon receiving a copy of her most recent release, a 5-song EP called “Half-Dressed,” Femme Fatale magazine dubbed Apryl one of their top ten most alluring new performers. Several of the tracks from this EP as well as her upcoming full album release “Waterproof Mascara” have been featured in MTV reality shows Score and Wanna Come In, as well as LifeTime Network’s new series “Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead.”. In 2004 she wrote and recorded the title track for Adrian Carr’s film, Blood Makes Noise, and she is continuously writing new material for film and television. "It's amazing, how clearly Apryl's energy comes through in the recording," adds Gohil, co-producer. "Her melodies are alluring, her lyrics intriguing and edgy." Prepare for the unforgettable.
